They are data that the Tax Administration&#8217;s system and your buyer&#8217;s accounting software read automatically. A wrong delivery date can mean an incorrect VAT calculation, and a wrong due date can disrupt your billing.<br\/>In this guide, we demystify the &#8220;big four&#8221; dates: Date of Issue, Date of Delivery, Accounting Period, and Due Date.  <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Date_of_Issue_The_Moment_of_Creation\"><\/span><strong><strong><strong>1. Date of Issue: The Moment of Creation<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>This is the date when you created and finalized the invoice in our app.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What does it mean? <br\/><\/strong> The official date the document was created. Date of Delivery: The Moment of Tax Liability<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>From a tax perspective, this is the most important date for the state. It dictates which month this invoice falls into for VAT calculation. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What does it mean? <br\/><\/strong> The day the service was performed, the goods were delivered, or the accounting period ended (e.g., end of the month).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Rule:<\/strong> If the Date of Delivery is Jan 31st, the VAT goes into January, even if you issued and sent the invoice in February.<br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"has-secondary-one-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-df8b320b207aff77e5acab4fd9f5ba5a\"><strong>Note: e-Invoice generation apps should allow entering a future delivery date in these cases:<br\/><\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Construction situations:<\/strong> Temporary situations are issued for works that will be formally accepted on a specific date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Subscriptions and rentals<\/strong>: Issuing an invoice in the current month for a service related to the next month.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Advance invoices (Prepayments): <\/strong>Although for advance payments the delivery date is actually the date the money is received, a future period is sometimes defined in the description.<br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Accounting_Period_FROM_%E2%80%93_TO_Description_of_the_Service\"><\/span><strong><strong>3. It defines the deadline by which the buyer must settle the debt. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>What does it mean?<br\/><\/strong> The last day for payment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How is it determined? Usually calculated as Date of Issue + Number of delay days (e.g., 15 or 30 days).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In the eInvoice: The buyer&#8217;s software uses this date to automatically schedule the payment order in their internet banking.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-large-font-size\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"THE_BIG_CHEAT_SHEET_The_Interrelation_of_All_Dates\"><\/span><strong><strong>THE BIG CHEAT SHEET: The Interrelation of All Dates<\/strong><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>This is where most questions arise. How are all these dates connected? Can the due date be before delivery? Here is the logic for the most common scenarios:   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Scenario A: Invoice for the previous month (e.g., Services or Rent)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>You worked all of January, and you are preparing the invoice in early February.<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accounting Period: 01.01. \u2013 31.01. (Describes what you did). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Date of Delivery: 31.01. (Follows the end of the period \u2013 VAT goes to January).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Date of Issue: 02.02. (The moment of issuing the invoice for a future service). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Due Date:<\/strong> 31.01. or 01.02.
